I promise that I'll do a better job blogging. In my last BLCU blog, which can be found here, I only posted 35 posts while I was in Beijing for 3 months which is pitiful.
Hopefully I can chronicle more the more technical aspects of applying to BLCU so that prospective students can be more confident about studying there.
So today I sent in my application to BLCU. Inside included:
- Application
- Picture of myself (.6 cents to develop)
- Application fee receipt($75 USD with $20 bank fee)
- Copy of my passport and one of my parents
Hopefully everything will get there safe and sound. Last time, I sent in my application at about the same time and got the school information back 3-4 weeks later.
This time I'm doing the same program but 20 hours a week instead. I'd like to see if I can tutor English and/or take classes to pass the HSK so I can work in China in the future, which is like the TOEFL in English
Hey I skimmed your other blog and it looks like you had a great time. I only read a few posts bc thats a lot to read in one sitting! =) Anyway, I've got a couple questions. Did you feel like you learned a lot while you were there? Also, what organization did you use to apply to BLCU? I'm planning on going there for a year starting in the fall and I've been looking at blcu.org but it seems there are many places to apply..
ReplyDeleteHey, I found your blog by searching BLCU in google. I will be at BLCU to do the one year course starting in March. Have already met a few people through the internet that will be there too. How long are you going for?
ReplyDeleteFeel free to add me on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?ref=profile&id=731859508
Would be nice to get to know people that are going to be there at the same time.
Take care! :)

ReplyDeleteI thought I learned a ton during the 12 weeks I was there. I honestly didn't feel like I was there long enough so a year will be great. It took me about 3 weeks to get used to Beijing.
I applied directly to BLCU, I used the form on the website and mailed it to them directly.
You don't need a HSK to find a job here. I got a job and nobody ever asked for anything like that. The only thing that matters is that you can speak. I had my job interview in Chinese :) And got it!
